A fantastic large 19th century antique Spanish pottery jug with throw turned red earthenware clay painted in iron oxide or ochre tones over a light slip or ground with a pattern of Stylised birds. Possibly Fajalauza or Iberian. There is a very thin covering of tan leather to the bottom for stability, this has slight wear as you can imagine but nothing detrimental or hugely serious. Some crazing to the glaze, commensurate with age otherwise in very good all original condition.

Measuring 28 cm high approx.
